Empathy Levels in First- and Third-Year Students in Health and Non-Health Disciplines
- S. Wilson, J. Prescott, G. Becket
- Medicine, EducationAmerican Journal of Pharmaceutical Education
- 12 March 2012
Across the study years, empathy increased among pharmacy students, decreased among nurses, and remained the same among law students, while women scored higher on empathy than did males.
Improvement of the in vitro dissolution of praziquantel by complexation with α-, β- and γ-cyclodextrins
Physicochemical characterization and dissolution properties of nimesulide-cyclodextrin binary systems

- Chemistry, Materials ScienceAAPS PharmSciTech
- 1 March 2003
Dissolution properties of N-CD binary systems were superior when compared to pure N and that of nimesulide-cyclodextrin binary systems both in solution and solid state.
Effect of permeation enhancer pretreatment on the iontophoresis of luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LHRH) through human epidermal membrane (HEM).
Increased LHRH delivery through HEM in vitro can be achieved using an enhancer in combination with iontophoresis, with evidence of synergy between E and I, with conductance measurements indicating that I + E synergistically increased the membrane permeability to conducting ions.
Investigation of newborn pig skin as an in vitro animal model for transdermal drug delivery
Investigation of the suitability of newborn pig skin as a model in percutaneous absorption studies of drugs found it to have a similar permeation properties to human skin, and factor difference values suggest that as a human skin substitute, newborn pigskin may be a suitable model for per cutaneous absorption screening studies.
Poisoning due to water hemlock
The ingestion of water hemlock can lead to serious complications that may be fatal, but prognosis is good, however, if prompt supportive care is provided, and treatment consists mainly of prompt airway management and seizure control.
Pharmacy professionalism: a systematic analysis of contemporary literature
There remains a lack of consensus around the definition of professionalism, as evidenced by the range of literature and diversity of definitional terms.
Facebook use in the learning environment: do students want this?
The Net Generation (those born in or after 1980) rely heavily on ICTs for social and professional interactions, and it has been suggested that they have the expectation that technology will be an…
Inclusion Complexation and Dissolution Properties of Nimesulide and Meloxicam–hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin Binary Systems
- B. N. Nalluri, K. Chowdary, K. V. R. Murthy, V. Satyanarayana, A. Hayman, G. Becket
- Materials Science, Chemistry
- 30 January 2005
The purpose of the work is physicochemical characterization of nimesulide (NI) and meloxicam (ME)–hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) binary systems both in solution and solid states and to…
