Datanet: Deep Learning Based Encrypted Network Traffic Classification in SDN Home Gateway
A software-defined-network (SDN)-HGW framework to better manage distributed smart home networks and support the SDN controller of the core network is proposed and experimental results show that the developed DataNets can be applied to enable distributed application-aware SDN-HGW in future smartHome networks.

The results demonstrate that the proposed autonomous learning framework can filter packets from unknown classes and provide accurate labels and corresponding DL-based classification models can be updated successfully with the autonomously generated dataset.

A novel traffic data augmenting method called PacketCGAN using Conditional GAN, which can control the modes of data to be generated and achieve data balancing, and demonstrates that DL based encrypted traffic classifier over a new dataset augmented by Packet CGAN can achieve better performance than the other three in terms of encrypted traffic classification.
