During the first weeks of lactation, the predicted partitioning of PBDE and PCB congeners from serum to milk agreed with the observed values, however, the prediction became weaker after 10 weeks of nursing, and QSAR analysis revealed that two parameters, calculated octanol/water partition and number of hydrogen-bond acceptors, were significant descriptors.
Defective stratum corneum and early neonatal death in mice lacking the gene for transglutaminase 1 (keratinocyte transglutaminase).

- BiologyProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences…
- 3 February 1998
The results clearly demonstrate that the TGase 1 gene is essential to the development and maturation of the stratum corneum and to adaptation to the environment after birth.

The general procedures of QSPR modeling for predicting skin permeability are introduced and the existing models including the newest models that can predict solvent effects on skin permeable are reviewed.
Mannose receptor-mediated gene transfer into macrophages using novel mannosylated cationic liposomes
- S. Kawakami, A. Sato, M. Nishikawa, F. Yamashita, M. Hashida
- Biology, ChemistryGene Therapy
- 2000
The results suggest that plasmid DNA complexed with mannosylated liposomes exhibits high transfection activity due to recognition by mannose receptors both in vitro and in vivo.
Efficient targeting to alveolar macrophages by intratracheal administration of mannosylated liposomes in rats.

- Biology, ChemistryPharmaceutical Research
- 1 March 2000
By optimizing lipid composition and charge ratio, galactosylated liposome/DNA complexes allow superior in vivo genetransfection in the liver via asialoglycoprotein receptor-mediatedendocytosis.
Modeling of Rifampicin-Induced CYP3A4 Activation Dynamics for the Prediction of Clinical Drug-Drug Interactions from In Vitro Data

- BiologyPLoS ONE
- 24 September 2013
It is demonstrated that rifampicin-induced DDI can be predicted with reasonable accuracy, and that a static model can be used to simulate DDI once the blood concentration of the inducer reaches a steady state following repeated dosing.
Molecular weight-dependent gene transfection activity of unmodified and galactosylated polyethyleneimine on hepatoma cells and mouse liver.

- Biology, ChemistryBiochemical and Biophysical Research…
- 9 November 1998
The results indicate that the liposome/DNA complexes prepared using novel galactosylated cholesterol derivatives are efficiently recognized by asialoglycoprotein receptors and internalized and lead to gene expression.
