Population structure of the seabob shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri (Heller, 1862) (Crustacea: Penaeoidea) in the littoral of São Paulo, Brazil
TLDR
The species showed an important variation from the typical life cycle that it is assumed to hold over its entire range and should be classified as having a life cycle different from that proposed previously in the literature, i.e. the juveniles prefer inshore areas instead of estuaries.
Population biology of Callinectes ornatus Ordway, 1863 (Decapoda, Portunidae) from Ubatuba (SP), Brazil

Reproductive biology and moulting cycle of the crab Callinectes ornatus (Decapoda, Portunidae) from the Ubatuba region, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Biological aspects of the nonindigenous portunid crab Charybdis hellerii in the western tropical South Atlantic
TLDR
The studied population, characterized by moderate densities of adult, juvenile and ovigerous female specimens, and the temporal and spatial sampling along the western Atlantic, principally along the Brazilian coast, confirm the hypothesis that C. hellerii is well established in this area, and has arrived in recent times.
Characterization of the physical and chemical parameters of Ubatuba Bay, Northern Coast of São Paulo State, Brazil
The objective of the present study is to characterize the physical and chemical environmental parameters of Ubatuba Bay (SP), as a subsidy for studies of the composition and distribution of benthic
Natural feeding activity of the crab Callinectes ornatus (Portunidae) in Ubatuba Bay (São Paulo, Brazil): influence of season, sex, size and molt stage
TLDR
These crabs are opportunistic predators with a preference for crustaceans and mollusks that is correlated with the availability of prey and the ontogenetic phase of the predator.
POPULATION STRUCTURE AND BREEDING SEASON OF THE SOUTH ATLANTIC HERMIT CRAB, LOXOPAGURUS LOXOCHELIS (ANOMURA, DIOGENIDAE) FROM THE UBATUBA REGION, BRAZIL
TLDR
The occurrence of L. loxochelis in the Ubatuba region represents the final point of northern distribution of this species as a function of water mass influence, and could be its real limit on the Atlantic coast of South America.
EGG PRODUCTION STRATEGIES OF THE TROPICAL HERMIT CRAB PAGURISTES TORTUGAE FROM BRAZIL
TLDR
The results showed continuous and elevated reproduction of P. tortugae, with a high reproductive potential for the population, and the pattern of the frequency distribution of ovigerous females tending to bimodality may be characteristic of a population with a two-year life cycle.
Interpopulation Comparison of Reproduction of the Atlantic Shrimp Hippolyte obliquimanus (Caridea: Hippolytidae)
TLDR
The reproductive traits of both populations of H. obliquimanus show some important differences which may reflect adaptations to local environmental conditions, demonstrating a high plasticity of reproductive features of the species in Brazilian and Costa Rican waters.
