Chemical Composition and Antimicrobial Activity of the Essential Oils from Several Hypericum Taxa (Guttiferae) Growing in Central Italy (Appennino Umbro‐Marchigiano)
TLDR
Essential oils obtained from six taxa, i.e., H. hirsutum and H. tetrapterum, were tested for their antimicrobial properties against five different microbial strains by the broth‐microdilution method, and they were found to have significant activity on B. subtilis, moderate activity on C. albicans and S. aureus, and weak activity on E. coli and E. faecalis.
Trypanosoma brucei Inhibition by Essential Oils from Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Traditionally Used in Cameroon (Azadirachta indica, Aframomum melegueta, Aframomum daniellii, Clausena anisata,
TLDR
Six medicinal and aromatic plants traditionally used in Cameroon to treat several disorders, including infections and parasitic diseases, are selected and the activity of their essential oils against Trypanosma brucei TC221 is evaluated.
Essential oil composition of Hypericum richeri Vill. from Italy
The essential oil composition of aerial parts of Hypericum richeri Vill. from Italy was analysed by GC and GC–MS. Fifty-one components of the essential oil were identified, representing 98.5% of the
Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) to Enhance Berberine Absorption: An In Vivo Pharmacokinetic Study
TLDR
Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents may be considered attractive solubilizing agents and may also play a role in the increase of absorption of poorly bioavailable natural products such as berberine.
Blue honeysuckle fruit (Lonicera caerulea L.) from eastern Russia: phenolic composition, nutritional value and biological activities of its polar extracts.
TLDR
While the fruit extracts were revealed to be potent radical scavengers with significant inhibition of ABTS radical, thus confirming the literature data, their inhibitory effects against microbial pathogens and tumor cell lines were negligible.
