Atlas of the muscle motor points for the lower limb: implications for electrical stimulation procedures and electrode positioning
- A. Botter, G. Oprandi, F. Lanfranco, S. Allasia, N. Maffiuletti, M. Minetto
- Biology, MedicineEuropean Journal of Applied Physiology
- 28 July 2011
The aim of the study was to investigate the uniformity of the muscle motor point location for lower limb muscles in healthy subjects and possible implications for electrical stimulation procedures and electrode positioning different from those commonly applied for thigh and leg muscles are discussed.
Sperm recovery and ICSI outcomes in Klinefelter syndrome: a systematic review and meta-analysis
- G. Corona, A. Pizzocaro, S. Francavilla
- MedicineHuman Reproduction Update
- 1 May 2017
The present data suggest that performing TESE/micro-TESE in subjects with KS results in SRRs of close to 50%, and then PRs and LBRs of close-to 50%, with the results being independent of any clinical or biochemical parameters tested.
Endocrine and metabolic responses to extreme altitude and physical exercise in climbers.
- A. Benso, F. Broglio, S. Grottoli
- Biology, MedicineEuropean Journal of Endocrinology
- 1 December 2007
The results of the present study in a unique experimental human model of maximal exposure to altitude and physical exercise demonstrate that extreme HA and strenuous physical exercise are coupled with specific endocrine adaptations that include increased activity of the GH/IGF-I axis and a low T(3) syndrome.
Klinefelter syndrome (KS): genetics, clinical phenotype and hypogonadism
- M. Bonomi, V. Rochira, E. Vicari
- Medicine, BiologyJournal of Endocrinological Investigation
- 19 September 2016
By improving knowledge on the role of some genetic aspects as well as on the KS, patients’ interindividual differences in terms of health status will result in a better management of this chromosomal disease.
Role of sequence variations of the GnRH receptor and G protein-coupled receptor 54 gene in male idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
- F. Lanfranco, J. Gromoll, S. von Eckardstein, Eva M Herding, E. Nieschlag, M. Simoni
- Biology, MedicineEuropean Journal of Endocrinology
- 1 December 2005
Mutations of the GnRHR and of the GPR54 gene are rare in IHH and should be investigated especially in cases with autosomal recessive transmission.
Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome impairs insulin sensitivity independently of anthropometric variables
- F. Tassone, F. Lanfranco, M. Maccario
- MedicineClinical Endocrinology
- 1 September 2003
Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome is strongly associated with obesity and characterized by endocrine and metabolic changes including impairment of insulin sensitivity, which is further clarified by further clarify the insulin dynamics and glucose metabolism in this condition.
Influence of the sample collection method on salivary interleukin–6 levels in resting and post-exercise conditions
- M. Minetto, M. Gazzoni, A. Rainoldi
- EducationEuropean Journal of Applied Physiology
- 14 June 2007
These data provided demonstration of a cotton-interference effect for the results of salivary IL-6 assay and confirmed the lack of significant correlation between Salivary and serum IL- 6 in resting and post-exercise conditions.
