The phylogeny of mealybugs is reviewed, focusing on Palaearctic taxa, and the overall congruence between gene trees provides strong support for the subfamilies Pseudococcinee and Phenacoccinae, and for the tribes Planococcini, Trabutinini and PseudOCoccini.
