Cerebral arterial spasm--a controlled trial of nimodipine in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage.
TLDR
It is concluded that nimodipine should be given to patients who are neurologically normal after subarachnoid hemorrhage in order to reduce the occurrence of severe neurologic deficits due to cerebral arterial spasm.
Recovery of motor function after spinal-cord injury--a randomized, placebo-controlled trial with GM-1 ganglioside.
TLDR
Evidence is provided that GM-1 enhances the recovery of neurologic function after one year in patients with spinal-cord injuries and that the increased recovery was attributable to initially paralyzed muscles that regained useful motor strength rather than to strengthening of paretic muscles.
Serum immunoglobulin levels throughout the life-span of healthy man.
TLDR
Serum immunoglobulin concentrations in apparently healthy subjects vary with age, race, and sex, and meaningful interpretation of serum immunoglobia concentrations in older adults has been difficult to determine.
The effect of aging on human serum immunoglobulin concentrations.
TLDR
The occurrence of a relative hypoglobulinemia in healthy older individuals is recorded, which is similar to aging occur in older individuals as well as early in life.
A comparison of serum immunoglobulin concentrations in sarcoidosis and tuberculosis.
Abstract Changes in the three major immunoglobulins in patients with sarcoidosis and tuberculosis were studied with respect to age, race, and sex. IgG and IgM were increased in patients with sarcoi...
HL-A-linked human immune-response genes.
TLDR
Positive associations were identified between HL-A haplotypes and immediate cutaneous hypersensitivity responses to 5, 8, and 11 of 23 test antigens in the three respective families, consistent with linkage with genes responsible for the immune response to various natural-productAntigens.
Early Treatment of Stroke With Monosialoganglioside GM‐1: Efficacy and Safety Results of the Early Stroke Trial
TLDR
It is suggested that GM-1 is safe in the dose and treatment schedule used and that its efficacy in ischemic stroke is greater when given soon after onset of stroke.
The Folate Pathway Inhibitor Pemetrexed Pleiotropically Enhances Effects of Cancer Immunotherapy
TLDR
Pemetrexed augments systemic intratumor immune responses through tumor intrinsic mechanisms including immunogenic cell death, T- cell–intrinsic mechanisms enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis leading to increased T-cell infiltration/activation along with modulation of innate immune pathways, which are significantly enhanced in combination with PD-1 pathway blockade.
