VERY HIGH GAS FRACTIONS AND EXTENDED GAS RESERVOIRS IN z = 1.5 DISK GALAXIES
- E. Daddi, F. Bournaud, D. Stern
- Physics
- 14 November 2009
We present evidence for very high gas fractions and extended molecular gas reservoirs in normal, near-infrared-selected (BzK) galaxies at z ∼ 1.5. Our results are based on multi-configuration CO[2–1]…
PHIBSS: MOLECULAR GAS CONTENT AND SCALING RELATIONS IN z ∼ 1–3 MASSIVE, MAIN-SEQUENCE STAR-FORMING GALAXIES
- L. Tacconi, R. Neri, B. Weiner
- Physics
- 25 November 2012
We present PHIBSS, the IRAM Plateau de Bure high-z blue sequence CO 3–2 survey of the molecular gas properties in massive, main-sequence star-forming galaxies (SFGs) near the cosmic star formation…
The ATLAS3D project – I. A volume-limited sample of 260 nearby early-type galaxies: science goals and selection criteria
- M. Cappellari, E. Emsellem, A. Weijmans
- Physics
- 7 December 2010
The ATLAS3D project is a multiwavelength survey combined with a theoretical modelling effort. The observations span from the radio to the millimetre and optical, and provide multicolour imaging,…
High molecular gas fractions in normal massive star-forming galaxies in the young Universe

- PhysicsNature
- 10 February 2010
A survey of molecular gas in samples of typical massive-star-forming galaxies at mean redshifts of about 1.2 and 2.3 reveals that distant star forming galaxies were indeed gas rich, and that the star formation efficiency is not strongly dependent on cosmic epoch.
The ATLAS3D project XV: benchmark for early-type galaxies scaling relations from 260 dynamical models: mass-to-light ratio, dark matter, fundamental plane and mass plane
- M. Cappellari, N. Scott, L. Young
- Physics
- 17 August 2012
We study the volume-limited and nearly mass-selected (stellar mass M-stars greater than or similar to 6 x 10(9) M circle dot) ATLAS(3D) sample of 260 early-type galaxies (ETGs, ellipticals Es and…

This paper describes the Hubble Space Telescope imaging data products and data reduction procedures for the Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey (CANDELS). This survey is…
DIFFERENT STAR FORMATION LAWS FOR DISKS VERSUS STARBURSTS AT LOW AND HIGH REDSHIFTS
- E. Daddi, D. Elbaz, D. Riechers
- Physics
- 19 March 2010
We present evidence that bona fide disks and starburst systems occupy distinct regions in the gas mass versus star formation rate (SFR) plane, both for the integrated quantities and for the…

In the companion Paper XV of this series, we derive accurate total mass-to-light ratios (M/L)(JAM) approximate to (M/L)(r = R-e) within a sphere of radius r = R-e centred on the galaxy, as well as…
