- BiologyInternational Journal of Systematic and…
- 1 August 2010
A marine bacterial strain isolated from an Amur starfish collected in the East Sea of Korea was a Gram-negative, beige-pigmented, rod-shaped bacterium that belonged to the genus Colwellia, and various phenotypic properties suggested that it is a representative of a novel species.
Kistimonas asteriae gen. nov., sp. nov., a gammaproteobacterium isolated from Asterias amurensis.
- Eun-Ju Choi, H. Kwon, Y. Sohn, Hyun-Ok Yang
- BiologyInternational Journal of Systematic and…
- 1 April 2010
A novel marine bacterium, strain KMD 001(T), was isolated from the starfish Asterias amurensis, which inhabits the East Sea of Korea and revealed that it represents a novel lineage within the class Gammaproteobacteria.
6-Hydroxymethyl-1-phenazine-carboxamide and 1,6-phenazinedimethanol from a marine bacterium, Brevibacterium sp. KMD 003, associated with marine purple vase sponge
- Eun-Ju Choi, H. Kwon, J. Ham, Hyun-Ok Yang
- ChemistryJournal of antibiotics (Tokyo. )
- 25 November 2009
Two new antibacterial phenazines were isolated from the culture broth of Brevibacterium sp. KMD 003 obtained from a marine purple vase sponge of the genus Callyspongia, collected in Kyeongpo,…
Four flavonoids from Echinosophora koreensis and their effects on alcohol metabolizing enzymes
- Eun-Ju Choi, H. Kwon, Hyun-Ok Yang
- ChemistryArchives of pharmacal research
- 26 June 2009
It is suggested that prenylated flavonoids have the potential to prevent ‘hangovers’ after alcohol intake.
9-Cis-retinoic acid induces growth inhibition in retinoid-sensitive breast cancer and sea urchin embryonic cells via retinoid X receptor α and replication factor C3.

- BiologyMolecular Endocrinology
- 4 September 2012
It is indicated that 9-cis-RA-activated RXRα suppresses the growth of RA-sensitive breast cancer and embryonic cells through RFC3, a subunit of the RFC heteropentamer that opens and closes the circular proliferating cell nuclear antigen clamp on DNA.
