This paper examines to what extent the international transfer of production activities is real or generalisable by analysing the location shifts in passenger car manufacturing since 1997. The findings illustrate that there is no conclusive evidence that passenger car manufacturing is relocated from high labour cost towards low labour cost countries.
This paper describes an approach to teaching supply chain management that is very much integrated with local industry. More than half of the time, students were interacting with companies in company visits and small projects. The approach has many challenges but is considered useful by industry, students and instructor.
