We calculate optical forces on colloidal particles over a photonic crystal slab. We show numerically that exciting a guided resonance mode of the slab yields a resonantly-enhanced, attractive optical force. A new photonic crystal structure is generated by using a regular graphite lattice as the base and adding a slot in the center of each unit cell to enhance field confinement.
