Allosteric effector ppGpp potentiates the inhibition of transcript initiation by DksA
- V. Molodtsov, E. Sineva, K. Murakami
- BiologybioRxiv
- 14 September 2017
The structures show that DksA accesses the template strand at the active site and the downstream DNA binding site of RNAP simultaneously and reveal that binding of the allosteric effector ppGpp reshapes the RNAP–DksA complex, which supports a model for transcriptional inhibition.
Systematic Structure-Activity Analysis of Microcin J25*
- O. Pavlova, J. Mukhopadhyay, E. Sineva, R. Ebright, K. Severinov
- Biology, ChemistryJournal of Biological Chemistry
- 12 September 2008
Systematic mutational scanning of Microcin J25 shows that only a small number of residues are important for MccJ25 production, which opens the way for design and construction of more potent MCCJ25-based inhibitors of bacterial growth.

Interactions among Cytochromes P450 in Microsomal Membranes
- D. Davydov, N. Y. Davydova, E. Sineva, J. Halpert
- BiologyJournal of Biological Chemistry
- 22 December 2014
An important general mechanism is revealed that regulates the activity and substrate specificity of the cytochrome P450 ensemble through interactions between multiple P450 species through hetero-oligomerization.
Mechanism of hcnA mRNA recognition in the Gac/Rsm signal transduction pathway of Pseudomonas fluorescens
- K. Lapouge, E. Sineva, D. Haas
- BiologyMolecular Microbiology
- 1 October 2007
Effective control of hcnA expression by the Gac/Rsm system appears to result from the combination of the three appropriately spaced recognition elements, which may form upon interaction with RsmA/ RsmE and would inhibit access of ribosomes.

Pivotal role of P450-P450 interactions in CYP3A4 allostery: the case of α-naphthoflavone.
- D. Davydov, N. Y. Davydova, E. Sineva, I. Kufareva, J. Halpert
- BiologyBiochemical Journal
- 15 July 2013
The mechanisms of CYP3A4 allostery with ANF involve effector-dependent modulation of P450-P450 interactions, and the degree of oligomerization at low enzyme concentrations is increased.
Peripheral Ligand-binding Site in Cytochrome P450 3A4 Located with Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET)*
- D. Davydov, J. Rumfeldt, E. Sineva, Harshica Fernando, N. Y. Davydova, J. Halpert
- Biology, ChemistryJournal of Biological Chemistry
- 22 December 2011
The findings strongly suggest that the mechanisms of CYP3A4 cooperativity involve a conformational transition triggered by an allosteric ligand.
Complex regulation of the global regulatory gene csrA: CsrA‐mediated translational repression, transcription from five promoters by Eσ70 and EσS, and indirect transcriptional activation by CsrA
- H. Yakhnin, A. Yakhnin, P. Babitzke
- BiologyMolecular Microbiology
- 1 August 2011
Results indicate that regulation of csrA expression occurs by a variety of mechanisms, including transcription from multiple promoters by two sigma factors, indirect activation of its own transcription, as well as direct repression of itsown translation.
Iron Regulates Expression of Bacillus cereus Hemolysin II via Global Regulator Fur
- E. Sineva, A. Shadrin, A. Solonin
- BiologyJournal of Bacteriology
- 20 April 2012
Results show that Fur serves as a transcriptional repressor for hlyII expression, which is negatively regulated by iron by the global regulator Fur via direct interaction with the hly II promoter.
