When nonlocal coupling between oscillators becomes stronger: patched synchrony or multichimera states.
- I. Omelchenko, O. Omel'chenko, P. Hövel, E. Schöll
- PhysicsPhysical Review Letters
- 13 December 2012
It is found that, depending on the coupling strength and range, different multichimera states arise in a transition from classical chimera states, which cannot be observed in simple phase-oscillator models.
Optically injected quantum dot lasers: impact of nonlinear carrier lifetimes on frequency-locking dynamics
- Johannes Pausch, C. Otto, Egle Tylaite, N. Majer, E. Schöll, K. Lüdge
- Physics
- 1 May 2012
Carrier scattering is known to crucially affect the dynamics of quantum dot (QD) laser devices. We show that the dynamic properties of a QD laser under optical injection are also affected by Coulomb…

TURN-ON DYNAMICS AND MODULATION RESPONSE IN SEMICONDUCTOR QUANTUM DOT LASERS
- K. Lüdge, M. Bormann, E. Schöll
- Physics

Refuting the odd-number limitation of time-delayed feedback control.
- B. Fiedler, V. Flunkert, M. Georgi, P. Hövel, E. Schöll
- Mathematics, PhysicsPhysical Review Letters
- 22 September 2006
It is demonstrated that the unstable periodic orbit generated by a subcritical Hopf bifurcation, which has a single real unstable Floquet multiplier, can in fact be stabilized.
Transition from spatial coherence to incoherence in coupled chaotic systems.

- 20 December 2011
The coherence-incoherence transition in networks of coupled identical oscillators is established using time-discrete as well as time-continuous chaotic models realized as a logistic map and a Rössler or Lorenz system.

Although the standard control scheme generally fails for large delay, it is found that if the uncontrolled system is sufficiently close to its instability threshold, control does work even for relatively large delay times.

- 12 May 2009
A method for establishment of a mapping between the 2D and 3D results is proposed and an analytic approach is presented to obtain the time evolution of the growth kinetics of growing cell populations.
