Cytotoxicity of cyclodepsipeptides on murine lymphocytes and on L 1210 leukemia cells.
TLDR
By in vitro experiments, an important cytotoxic effect of destruxins A, A2, B, B1 and E on L 1210 leukemia cells was demonstrated and 16 mg/kg was found to be the minimal dose necessary to kill all mice.
Grossularine-1 and grossularine-2, alpha carbolines from Dendrodoa grossularia, as possible intercalative agents.
TLDR
Results of viscometry, fluorescence quenching and DNA melting experiments clearly indicated the intercalative properties of grossularine-2 explained by its quasi-planar structure and the non-intercalative DNA binding of grossularityine-1 explained by the presence of a bulky indole chain at the 2-position of the alpha-carboline ring.
Sesquiterpene quinones as immunomodulating agents.
TLDR
Biological studies revealed products modulating immune responses in sesquiterpene quinones and hydroquinones isolated from the sponge Smenospongia sp, which revealed different behaviours on normal cells.

TLDR
Comparison of the activities of the different compounds suggests that the position of the hydrophilic group at C-29 is of greater importance than the hydroxyl or hydroperoxide function itself, and a new compound stigmasta-5,24 (28) diene-3,29 diol, appears to be highly effective.
Preliminary phytochemical screening and antimicrobial evaluation of leaves and barks extracts from Cola anomala (Schott and Endlicher)
Cola is a tropical African genus that belongs to Sterculiaceae. The aim of this study is to investigate the preliminary phytochemical analysis and antimicrobial evaluation of the leaves and barks
Isodidemnine-1, a Cytotoxic Cyclodepsipeptide Isolated from the Tunicate Trididemnum cyanophorum (Didemnidae).
Isodidemnin-1 is shown to be the major and the most cytotoxic product (against L 1210 leukemia cells) in the dichloromethane extract of the title species.
