Strawberries (Fragaria × ananassa Duch) were grown in a tunnel covered with two films, which were distinguished in their ultraviolet transparency, as well as under open-field conditions, and HPLC analysis showed that individual phenolics were affected in the absence of UV radiation.

The results of the present study suggest that the use of combined BCA treatments only cannot overcome inconsistent efficacies of BCAs against strawberry grey mould under field conditions.

Yield was more affected by seasonal and growing conditions than by latitude, and fruit quality standards dry matter, soluble solids and titratable acidity were influenced by latitude giving northern sites in general the highest values.
