VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION AND BIOLOGY OF PELAGIC DECAPOD CRUSTACEANS OFF OREGON
- E. E. Krygier, W. Pearcy
- Environmental Science
- 1981
Within the carid and penaeids, meso- to bathypelagic species have decreased egg number compared to epipelagic species; nevertheless within the carids, the number of eggs brooded per female was always highest for the deepest living species within a genus, which were also the largest sized species.
Biological transport of zinc-65 into the deep sea†
- W. Pearcy, E. E. Krygier, N. Cutshall
- Environmental Science
- 1 September 1977
The specific activities of zinc-65 (/sup 65/Zn:Zn) in pelagic and benthic animals collected off Oregon were correlated with depth of capture to estimate vertical biological transport rates. Results…
Description and biology of a new species of pelagic penaeid shrimp, Bentheogennema burkenroadi, from the Northeastern Pacific
- E. E. Krygier, R. A. Wasmer
- Biology

Examination of testes and ovaries, and the structures of the petasma and thelycum, indicates a 4-5 mo spawning season and an equal male to female sex ratio.
Bathypelagic Mysids from the Northeastern Pacific
- M. Murano, E. E. Krygier
- Biology
- 1985
Deep-water samples off the Oregon coast yielded two new genera, four new species, and resulted in a further description of a previously described species of the Suborder Mysida, and a complete description of the antennal peduncle and telson are provided.

A NEW ACANTHEPHYRA (CRUSTACEA, DECAPODA, CARIDEA) FROM THE NORTHEAST PACIFIC OCEAN
- E. E. Krygier, Carl A. Forss
- Biology
- 1981
The new bathypelagic caridean shrimp species Acanthephyra chacei is distinguished by its membranous integument; its dorsally carinate carapace, lacking a cervical groove; and abdominal somites III through VI dorsallyCarinate, each ending in a spine.

Cobalt is an integral part of the vitamin Bl2 complex and an important cofactor in enzyme systems (Lowman et al. 1971; Reichle et al. 1970). It is, therefore, an element whose cycle in oceanic…
