Unliganded estrogen receptor-alpha activates transcription of the mammary gland Na+/I- symporter gene.
- Hani AlotaibiE. YamanE. DemirpençeU. Tazebay
- 2006
Biology, Medicine
It is shown that the suppression of endogenous ERalpha by RNA interference downregulates NIS expression in ERalpha positive mammary cells and that unliganded ERalpha (apo-ERalpha) contributes to the regulation of NIS gene expression.
Reporter cell lines are useful tools for monitoring biological activity of nuclear receptor ligands.
- P. BalaguerA. BoussiouxE. DemirpençeJ. Nicolas
- 1 March 2001
Biology, Medicine
To characterize the specificity of synthetic compounds for nuclear receptors, stable cell lines expressing the luciferase gene and different wild-type or chimaeric receptors are established and HELN cells were used to establish stable transfectants expressing different nuclear receptors containing the DNA-binding domain of the oestrogen receptors.

Effects of preoperative fractionated irradiation on left colonic anastomoses in the rat
Although preoperative fractionated irradiation significantly decreased the anastomotic bursting pressure and more burst occurred in the anASTomotic line on postoperative day 7, the clinical outcome was similar among the groups.
Serum PON-1 activity but not Q192R polymorphism is related to the extent of atherosclerosis.
- Ahmet Tugrul BayrakT. Bayrak E. Demirpençe
- 2012
Medicine
It has been concluded that serum PONase and HTase activities might be a more relevant marker than PON1 genotype in evaluating the extent and severity of atherosclerosis.
Experimental study of the effect of preoperative 5‐fluorouracil on the integrity of colonic anastomoses
- M. KuzuC. KöksoyT. KaleE. DemirpençeN. Renda
- 1 February 1998
Biology, Medicine
The aim of this study was to assess the effect of preoperative 5‐fluorouracil (FU) on the healing of colonic anastomoses in a rat model.

Plasma myeloperoxidase is related to the severity of coronary artery disease
- Övünç DüzgünçınarB. Yavuz E. Demirpençe
- 1 April 2008
Medicine
