In this paper, we evaluate the potential of a rate-adaptive hybrid link, combining LED based optical wireless and 60 GHz technologies. These links over short backhauling distances are well suited for the deployment of small radio cells in 5G mobile networks. Results from a 4.5-month outdoor field trial indicate that the availability for both links is 100%.(More)
