Ultrafast dissociation of excitons in CdSe quantum dots via electron transfer to adsorbed Re-bipyridyl complexes was demonstrated. The dissociation pathway was determined by the observation of reduced adsorbate using femtosecond IR spectroscopy. The rate of electron transfer was shown to increase at smaller QD sizes. Electron transfer time as fast as 2.3 ps… (More)
UNLABELLED Because of the temperature extremes encountered during emergency resuscitation and transport in the field, we sought to evaluate the performance and safety of 10 adult resuscitators (5 permanent units: Hope 4, Laerdal, Lifesaver, Mark 3, and PMR; and 5 disposable units: BagEasy, Code Blue, CPR Bag, DMR, and SPUR) across an operational temperature… (More)
A highly efficient 355nm Nd:YAG laser is developed in an intra-cavity triple resonance setup. By using novel harmonic configurations, we have eliminated the requirement of linear-polarization on the fundamental laser and its consequent power loss.
800-nm pumped BIBO OPAs using Type-I and Type-II phase-matching are investigated and compared for achieving sub-50-fs pulses in the NIR. The OPAs achieve their shortest pulse durations of 19.8fs and 41.3fs, respectively, at 1.8μm.
