Phylogeny of the subfamilies of Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera)

A combined morphological and molecular phylogenetic analysis was performed to evaluate the subfamily relationships of the parasitoid wasp family Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) and it was concluded that the molecular characters produced results that were relatively consistent with traditional, non-phylogenetic concepts of relationships between the ichneumonid subfamilies.

The suprageneric groups ofthe Pimplinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae): a cladistic re-evaluationand evolutionary biological study

The phylogenetic relationships of the suprageneric group of the ichneumonid subfamily Pimplinae (Hymenoptera) are re-assessed using 166 morphological and biological characters for 162 species, representing all of the available described genera and subgenera, and results suggest that using abstracted taxa may force a ‘falsemonophyly’ on the preselected groups.
