Identification of Genetic Causes of Inherited Peripheral Neuropathies by Targeted Gene Panel Sequencing
A gene panel for one step genetic diagnosis of IPN seems that its time- and cost-effectiveness are superior to previous tiered-genetic diagnosis algorithms, and it could be applied as a genetic diagnostic system for inherited peripheral neuropathies.
Immunomodulatory and Antioxidant Effects of Purple Sweet Potato Extract in LP-BM5 Murine Leukemia Virus-Induced Murine Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
- O. Kim, D. Nam, Ho-Geun Yoon, Sun Jung Baek, W. Jun, Jeongmin Lee
- Biology, MedicineJournal of Medicinal Food
- 27 July 2015
The data suggest that PSPE may ameliorate immune dysfunction due to LP-BM5 MuLV infection by modulating antioxidant defense systems and increasing the activity of the antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase.
Cudrania tricuspidata water extract improved obesity-induced hepatic insulin resistance in db/db mice by suppressing ER stress and inflammation
- O. Kim, D. Nam, W. Jun, Jeongmin Lee
- Biology, MedicineFood & Nutrition Research
- 26 October 2015
CTL can improve hepatic insulin resistance and hyperglycemia by controlling obesity-induced ER stress and inflammation in the liver and that CTL may be a useful agent in treating hyperglycesmia.
Pycnogenol supplementation promotes lipolysis via activation of cAMP-dependent PKA in ob/ob mice and primary-cultured adipocytes.
- Jin-Nyoung Ho, O. Kim, D. Nam, W. Jun, Jeongmin Lee
- BiologyJournal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology
The PKA inhibitor (H89) clearly blocked the cellular levels of perilipin A and HSL, suggesting that Pyc promotes lipolysis of adipocytes through activation of cAMP-dependent PKA, resulting in induction of HSL and reduction of perilIPin A.

Preparation and biodegradation of thermosensitive chitosan hydrogel as a function of pH and temperature
- H. Han, D. Nam, D. Seo, Tae Woo Kim, B. Shin, Ho-Suk Choi
- Biology, Engineering
- 1 October 2004
Chitosan hydrogel systems that possess biocompatibility and biodegradability could be promising thermosensitive injectable materials useful as depot systems for local anti-cancer drug delivery.
Policosanol Attenuates Cholesterol Synthesis via AMPK Activation in Hypercholesterolemic Rats.
- D. Nam, Jeong‐Moon Yun, Dakyung Kim, O. Kim
- MedicineJournal of Medicinal Food
- 14 November 2019
It is suggested that policosanol supplementation induces antihypercholesterolemia by inhibiting cholesterol biosynthesis, LDL cholesterol uptake, and cholesterol excretion.
Protective Effect of Canavalia gladiata on Gastric Inflammation Induced by Alcohol Treatment in Rats
- O. Kim, D. Nam, Y. You, W. Jun, Jeongmin Lee
- 31 May 2013
The data show that Canavalia gladiata has inhibitory and protective effects on gastric inflammation induced by alcohol treatment in SD rats, and groups pretreated with lansoprazole or CGE showed an attenuation of gastric mucosal injury.
Genetic authentication of cultivars with flower-variant types using SSR markers in spring orchid, Cymbidium goeringii
- Hyun Jung Lee, Hye Ri Park, K. Chung
- BiologyHorticulture Environment and Biotechnology
- 20 April 2020
This is the first forensic attempt to authenticate whether each plant is genetically genuine for the corresponding cultivars in spring orchid, and shows that almost 40% of C. goeringii sold may not be genuine.
Immunomodulatory Effects of Curcuma longa L. Extract in LP-BM5 Murine Leukemia Viruses-induced Murine Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
- O. Kim, Seon-a Yoo, Jeongmin Lee
- Medicine, Biology
Dietary supplementation with Curcuma longa L. 20% alcohol extract inhibited elevation of spleen, lymph node, and liver weights as well as reduction of T- and B-cell proliferation and natural killer cell activity induced by LP-BM5 MuLV infection.
