Phantom and Clinical Evaluation of the Bayesian Penalized Likelihood Reconstruction Algorithm Q.Clear on an LYSO PET/CT System
- E. Teoh, D. McGowan, R. Macpherson, K. Bradley, F. Gleeson
- Mathematics, MedicineThe Journal of Nuclear Medicine
- 1 September 2015
The optimum penalization factor (beta) for clinical use of Q.Clear is determined and improved CR and reduced BV is demonstrated when using Q. clear instead of OSEM.
Novel penalised likelihood reconstruction of PET in the assessment of histologically verified small pulmonary nodules
- E. Teoh, D. McGowan, K. Bradley, E. Belcher, E. Black, F. Gleeson
- MedicineEuropean Radiology
- 20 May 2015
When semi-quantitative analyses to diagnose malignancy are applied, higher SUVmax thresholds may be warranted owing to the SUVmax increase compared to OSEM, which results in a significant increase in signal- to-background and signal-to-noise compared toOSEM.
Does a novel penalized likelihood reconstruction of 18F-FDG PET-CT improve signal-to-background in colorectal liver metastases?
- N. Parvizi, J. Franklin, D. McGowan, E. Teoh, K. Bradley, F. Gleeson
- MedicineEuropean journal of radiology
- 1 October 2015
This BPL reconstruction algorithm improved SNR and SBR for colorectal liver metastases detected by 18F-FDG-PET/CT, increasing the lesion SUVmax without increasing background liver SUV or image noise.
18F-FDG PET/CT assessment of histopathologically confirmed mediastinal lymph nodes in non-small cell lung cancer using a penalised likelihood reconstruction
BPL increases SBR, SNR and SUVmax of mediastinal nodes in NSCLC compared to OSEM, but did not improve the accuracy for determining nodal involvement and may be appropriate for semi-quantitative analyses with penalised likelihood.
Data-Driven Respiratory Gating Outperforms Device-Based Gating for Clinical 18F-FDG PET/CT
- M. Walker, Andrew J. Morgan, K. Bradley, D. McGowan
- MedicineThe Journal of Nuclear Medicine
- 3 April 2020
In this clinical evaluation, DDG-retro provided performance superior to that of the external device-based system for oncologic 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging, leading to a significant preference overall.
Nigrosome 1 imaging in REM sleep behavior disorder and its association with dopaminergic decline
- T. Barber, L. Griffanti, +5 authors J. Klein
- MedicineAnnals of clinical and translational neurology
- 9 December 2019
The utility of susceptibility‐weighted MRI (SWI) to detect abnormalities of the substantia nigra in RBD and explore their association with striatal dopaminergic deficits is investigated.
Effect of a Bayesian Penalized Likelihood PET Reconstruction Compared With Ordered Subset Expectation Maximization on Clinical Image Quality Over a Wide Range of Patient Weights.
BPL provides a more consistent visually assessed image quality and liver background SNR than does OSEM, with the greatest benefit for the heaviest patients.
The Impact of Radiobiologically Informed Dose Prescription on the Clinical Benefit of 90Y SIRT in Colorectal Cancer Patients
Radiobiological parameters determined by clonogenic assays of mCRC cell lines HT-29 and DLD-1 after exposure to 90Y or external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) were used in biologically effective dose (BED) calculations, providing a calculation method that has the potential to improve assessment of tumor control.
Optimization of image reconstruction for yttrium-90 SIRT on a LYSO PET / CT system using a Bayesian penalized likelihood reconstruction algorithm
Evaluation of principal component analysis-based data-driven respiratory gating for positron emission tomography
A PCA-based DDG algorithm was evaluated and found to provide a reliable respiratory gating signal in anthropomorphic phantom studies and in example patients.
