Quantum walks have been studied under several regimes. Motivated by experimental results on quantum weak measurements and weak values as well as by the need to develop new insights for quantum…
Weak measurements, weak values, and entanglement
- J. Tollaksen, D. Ghoshal
- PhysicsSPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing
- 27 April 2007
As a resource, quantum entanglement provides enormous power to quantum information processing and quantum communication. We focus on new properties of entanglement as revealed by quantum weak…
NP problems, post-selection and weak measurements

It is shown that if operations in a quantum computer were conditioned on the results of a subsequent post-selection measurement, then NP-complete problems could be solved in polynomial time, which is un-physical by considering constraints on new kinds of measurements which depend on the future post- selection in a non-trivial way.
Finite temperature quantum entanglement

- PhysicsSPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing
- 10 May 2007
Some of our previous research showed some interesting results regarding the effect of non-zero temperature on a specified quantum computation. For example, our analysis revealed that more Grover…
Finite temperature quantum logic
- D. Ghoshal, R. Gomez, M. Lanzagorta, J. Uhlmann
- PhysicsSPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing
- 5 May 2006
The engineering of practical quantum computers requires dealing with the so-called "temperature mismatch problem". More specifically, analysis of quantum logic using ensembles of quantum systems…
Quantum computation in the analysis of hyperspectral data
- R. Gomez, D. Ghoshal, Anil Jayanna
- Computer ScienceSPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing
- 24 August 2004
The results of the investigation of several applications of several quantum algorithms - especially the Grover's Search algorithm - in the analysis of Hyperspectral Data are provided to provide information retrieval from hyperspectral image data cubes would be a much easier process and the final information content would be much more meaningful and timely.
Adsorption of Cetylpyridinium Chloride & Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide on Bentonite
- D. Ghoshal
- Chemistry
- 2001
A monolayer of cetylpyridinium (chloride (CPC) is formed on bentonite surface at saturation adsorption. Total surface area of bentonite calculated from the monolayer capacity accounts for only 45% of…
