Phylogenetic Relationships of Tanaidacea (Eumalacostraca: Peracarida) Inferred from Three Molecular Loci
- D. Drumm
- Biology
- 9 November 2010
Results suggested that the monotypic Hargeria should be considered a junior synonym of Leptochelia, corroborating morphological evidence, in the first attempt at using molecular data to determine phylogenetic relationships of tanaidaceans.
Systematic revision of the family Kalliapseudidae (Crustacea: Tanaidacea)
Results indicated high levels of homoplasy in three morphological characteristics traditionally used to differentiate groups in the Kalliapseudidae family, which is a family of shallow burrow–dwelling and fossorial marine and estuarine tanaidaceans.
New deep-sea Paratanaoidea (Crustacea: Peracarida: Tanaidacea) from the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.
One new genus is erected and four new species of paratanaoidean tanaidaceans are described from deep waters in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico: one in each of the genera Collettea, Tanaella, and…
COMPARISON OF FEEDING MECHANISMS, RESPIRATION, AND CLEANING BEHAVIOR IN TWO KALLIAPSEUDIDS, KALLIAPSEUDES MACSWEENYI AND PSAMMOKALLIAPSEUDES GRANULOSUS (PERACARIDA: TANAIDACEA)

Abstract The feeding mechanisms of two species in the tanaidacean family Kalliapseudidae, Kalliapseudes macsweenyi Drumm and Psammokalliapseudes granulosus Brum, are elucidated by comparing gut…

Redescription of Kalliapseudes obtusifrons (Haswell, 1882), from Southeast Australia (Crustacea : Tanaidacea : Apseudomorpha : Kalliapseudidae), With the Designation of a Lectotype
Kalliapseudes obtusifrons (Haswell) is redescribed and referred to the genus Kalliapseudes sensu stricto. It can be distinguished from the other members of the genus by the nature of the ventral…
Deep-Sea Phylogeographic Structure Shaped by Paleoenvironmental Changes and Ongoing Ocean Currents Around the Sea of Japan in a Crangonid Shrimp, Argis lar

Bayesian inference of divergence time revealed that A. lar separated into three lineages approximately 1 million years before present (BP) in the Pleistocene, and had been influenced by deep-sea paleoenvironmental change in the Sea of Japan during the last glacial period, followed by a more recent larval dispersal with the ocean current since ca.

A new species of Fageapseudes (Crustacea: Peracarida: Tanaidacea) from California, with comments on the systematics of the family Apseudidae.
A new species of Fageapseudes from 4100 m depth off California is revealed, the first record of the genus in the eastern North Pacific, and problems with the current classification of the Apseudidae are briefly discussed.
Comparative morphology of the mouthparts, chelipeds and foregut of two kalliapseudid apseudomorphans (Crustacea: Tanaidacea)
- D. Drumm
- Biology
- 1 February 2005
Foregut morphology of two kalliapseudid apseudomorphan species is nearly identical and could be attributed to their close phylogenetic relationships on the familial level, or to their similar, chiefly detritus-based diets.
