The term small bowel bleeding is proposed as a replacement for the previous classification of obscure GI bleeding (OGIB), and it is recommended that the term OGIB should be reserved for patients in whom a source of bleeding cannot be identified anywhere in the GI tract.

Colonization with O. formigenes is associated with a 70% reduction in the risk for being a recurrent calcium oxalate stone former, and the inverse association was consistently present within strata of age, gender, race/ethnicity, region, and antibiotic use.
