We have observed four new decay modes of the charmed baryon + c using data collected with the CLEO II detector. Three decay modes, + c ! p K 0 , + , and + , are rst observations of nal states with an meson, while the fourth mode, + c ! K 0 K + , requires an s s quark pair to be popped out of the vacuum. The branching ratios relative to + c ! pK ? + are(More)
We present a new determination of f Ds using 5 million e + e ? ! cc events obtained with the CLEO II detector. Our value is derived from our new measured ratio ?(D + s ! +)=?(D + s ! +) = 0:173 0:021 0:031. Using B(D + s ! +) = (3:6 0:9)%, we extract f Ds = (280 17 25 34) MeV. We compare this result with various model calculations.
We have measured the branching ratio for the inclusive radiative penguin process b ! ss. We nd where the rst error is statistical, the second error is the additive systematic error from uncertainty in yield, and the third error is the multiplicative systematic error from uncertainty in eeciency, which includes model dependence .
We search for the decay B ? ! ? in a sample of over 2 million charged B decays using the CLEO detector. We use the channel in which the tau decays leptonically, and combine this lepton with the missing energy and momentum in the event to form a B candidate. A t to the mass and energy distribution of these B candidates yields ?14 46 signal events. This value(More)
We have used the CLEO-II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring to study the inclusive production of charmonium mesons in a sample of 2.15 million BB events. We nd inclusive branching fractions of (1.130.040.06)% for B!J==X, (0.340.040.03)% for B! 0 X, and (0.400.060.04)% for B! c1 X. We also nd some evidence for the inclusive production of c2. An(More)
We have measured the first and second moments of the hadronic mass-squared distribution in B-->X(c)l nu, for P(lepton)>1.5 GeV/c. We find <M(2)(X)-M macro(2)(D)> = 0.251+/-0.066 GeV(2), <(M(2)(X)-<M(2)(X)>)(2)> = 0.576+/-0.170 GeV(4), where M macro(D) is the spin-averaged D meson mass. From that first moment and the first moment of the photon energy(More)
We have fully reconstructed decays of both B 0 and B mesons into nal states containing either D, D , D , , 0 or c1 mesons. This allows us to obtain new results on many physics topics including branching ratios, tests of the factorization hypothesis, color suppression, resonant substructure, and the B B 0 mass diierence.
We have studied semileptonic B meson decays with a P-wave charm meson in the nal state using 3:29 10 6 B B events collected by the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron-positron Storage Ring. We nd a value for the exclusive semileptonic product branching fraction: These results indicate that at least 20% of the total B ? semileptonic rate is un-accounted(More)
