Five metrics for scene change detection in video sequences are presented. Metrics previously applied to this problem are surveyed, and are quantitatively compared to the new metrics. Results show that the proposed metrics are superior.
INTRODUCTION There are many indications for cranioplasty with an increasing incidence partly attributable to an increase in decompressive craniectomy following trauma and stroke. The aim of this study was to compare the survival of acrylic and titanium cranioplasties used in our department. MATERIALS AND METHODS Retrospective cohort study of 126 patients… (More)
Critical infrastructure networks, including transport, are crucial to the social and economic function of urban areas but are at increasing risk from natural hazards. Minimizing disruption to these networks should form part of a strategy to increase urban resilience. A framework for assessing the disruption from flood events to transport systems is… (More)
Thoracic spine chordomas are a rare clinical entity and present several diagnostic and management challenges. Posterior debulking techniques are the traditional approach for the resection of thoracic tumors involving the vertebral body. Anterior approaches to the thoracic spine enable complete tumor resection and interbody fusion. However, this approach has… (More)

We report an unusual case of a fracture through fused cervical segment in a patient with KPS, who presented with quadriparesis and progressed on to develop respiratory failure and quadriplegia and who had a successful outcome… (More)
Fluorescent microscopy of biological samples allows non-invasive screening of specific molecular events in-situ. This approach is useful for investigating intricate signalling pathways and in the drug discovery process. The large volumes of data involved in image analysis are a limiting factor. As manual image interpretation relies on expensive manpower… (More)
