Explicit design equations for the realisation of general high-order transfer functions with multiple integrator loop feedback OTA-grounded capacitor filters based on the follow-the-leader-feedback…
Optimum dead-beat controller design for SISO systems using time-weighted performance indices
An analytical method for the design of optimum digital controllers for SISO systems that exhibit dead-beat response to polynomial type inputs is proposed. The optimization is performed through the…
Explicit conditions for ripple-free dead-beat control
An analytical study of the system's control sequence is presented, which plays an important role for the inter sample activity of the plant, and necessary and sufficient conditions for ripple-free dead-beat response are derived.
Teaching performance evaluation of multiprocessor architectures with Mathcad and MathConnex
An interactive environment that facilitates the performance evaluation of multiprocessor architectures with Mathcad and MathConnex is presented and used as an interactive computer laboratory exercise for teaching undergraduate students of the Computer Science Department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Optimal control of first-order plants by dead-beat techniques
The design of optimal dead-beat controllers for first-order plants is considered. The simple nature of these plants leads to ripple-free step response, a property that is highly desirable. The…
Dead-beat response of SISO systems to parabolic inputs with optimum step and ramp responses
The design problem of optimum control systems with dead-beat response to parabolic inputs is considered and response characteristics are illustrated through diagrams of typical prototype responses and normalized overshoot and cost function curves.

The design of digital controllers for minimum-energy ripple-free dead-beat control of type-I second-order plants is considered and it is readily seen that a linear increment in the overall system order results in a proportional increase in the settling-time and an exponential decrease in the energy of the control signal needed to attain the desirable response, but the maximum control signal, as well.

This work presents the development of an interactive computer laboratory exercise based on the combined use of Mathcad(R) and MathConnex/sup TM for teaching network performance evaluation to the undergraduate students at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
New sampled-data analogue multiplier
A new two-quadrant analogue multiplier based on pulse width modulation and a sampled-data technique is proposed, responsible for its good accuracy, high linearity and fast response.
Symbolic design of optimum discrete-time control systems using Mathematica
- Constantine A. Barbargires
This work exploits the rich symbolic and programming capabilities ofMathematica for the design of discrete-time control systems with dead-beat response to polynomial timedomain inputs, with special…
