Population frequencies of the genetic markers esterase D and carbonic anhydrase were determined in blacks and whites using starch gel electrophoresis. Previously published data are compared.
Picogram quantities of the opiate alkaloid, morphine, were detected in a 50-microliter samples of dried bloodstain by using radioimmunoassay. The age of the stain versus detectability of morphine, the separation of endogenous interfering substances, and morphine extractibility by various agents were investigated.
