The effects of antimicrobial food additives on growth and ochratoxin A production by Aspergillus sulphureus and Penicillium viridicatum were investigated and the most effective antimicrobial agents for inhibiting o chratoxin production were methyl paraben and potassium sorbate, followed by sodium propionate.

It is suggested that LacMP, of Moniliophthora perniciosa FA553, has optimal activity under neutral and alkaline oxidation reaction conditions, and could be a potential candidate for industrial biocatalytic applications.
