Monilethrix: a novel mutation (Glu402Lys) in the helix termination motif and the first causative mutation (Asn114Asp) in the helix initiation motif of the type II hair keratin hHb6.
The data strongly suggest that monilethrix is a disease of the hair cortex, whose etiology is interesting in that causative mutations seem to be restricted to type II hair keratins.

A double-blind study comparing once and twice a day application of betamethasone-17, 21-dipropionate cream 0·05% (Diproderm®) has shown that the efficacy in treating eczema is the same after 1 week.
