Evidence from recent molecular phylogenetic studies that corroborate the independence of Pyramidopidae, fam.
Resource Utilization and Environmental and Spatio-Temporal Overlap of a Hilltopping Lycaenid Butterfly Community in the Colombian Andes
- C. Prieto, H. Dahners
- Environmental ScienceJournal of Insect Science
- 8 May 2009
The results pointed out that community's assemblage could be mainly shaped in two ways, the first is that species with determined habitat requirements fit into unoccupied niche spaces and the second is by niche segregation in the vertical space distribution variable.
A new Hygromiinae of the NW-Iberian Peninsula Cryptosaccus asturiensis n. gen., n. sp. (Pulmonata: Helicoidea: Hygromiidae)

Three new Assamiidae (Arachnida: Opiliones) from Cameroon, with a redescription of Chilon robustus and comments on related species
The revision of syntypes of several related species allowed us to revalidate Chilon undulatus Sorensen, 1896 and to postulate that Rhabdopygus maculatus Roewer, 1935 does not belong to R HabdopyGus.
DELIMITATION OF BIOGEOGRAPHICAL AREAS IN THE IBERIAN PENINSULA ON THE BASIS OF HELICOIDEA SPECIES (PULMONATA: STYLOMMATOPHORA)
- A. I. Puente, Kepa Altonaga, C. Prieto, A. Rallo
- Environmental Science
- 1 April 1998
A sectorization of the Iberian Peninsula has been obtained on the basis of Helicoidea species distributions. The distributions were analysed by multivariate methods with several qualitative indices,…
Island biogeography in continental areas: inferring dispersal based on distributional patterns of Pronophilina butterflies (Nymphalidae: Satyrinae) in the north Andean massifs
- Oscar Mahecha, R. Garlacz, M. Andrade, C. Prieto, T. Pyrcz

Faunal structure, species relationships and distribution patterns of Pronophilina butterflies, a Neotropical montane section of the Satyrinae (Nymphalidae), of 5 isolated north Andean massifs…
A new iridescent “elfin” butterfly species of Podanotum (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae: Eumaeini) from the Colombian Andes
- C. Prieto, G. Rodríguez
- Biology
- 8 May 2012
A new butterfly species, Podanotum pulsar Prieto & Rodriguez n. sp. is described from the high Andes of Colombia. Wepresent a brief discussion on its systematic placement and on adult ecology. Adult…
Genital morphology of Caracollina lenticula (Michaud, 1831), with a new proposal of classification of helicodontoid genera (Pulmonata: Hygromioidea)
- C. Prieto, A. I. Puente, Kepa Altonaga, B. Gómez
- Biology
- 1993
Observations show that the mucous gland is attached to the «appendix» and that the so called «app appendix» is an organ where secretion elaborated by the mucus gland is accumulated, thus corresponding to the accessory sac in the sense of Nordsieck (1987).
