The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule—Generic: A Standard Measure of Social and Communication Deficits Associated with the Spectrum of Autism
Algorithm sensitivities and specificities for autism and PD DNOS relative to nonspectrum disorders were excellent, with moderate differentiation of autism from PDDNOS.
Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised: A revised version of a diagnostic interview for caregivers of individuals with possible pervasive developmental disorders
- C. Lord, M. Rutter, A. Couteur
- Psychology, MedicineJournal of autism and developmental disorders
- 1 October 1994
The revised interview has been reorganized, shortened, modified to be appropriate for children with mental ages from about 18 months into adulthood and linked to ICD-10 and DSM-IV criteria.
Autism screening questionnaire: Diagnostic validity
- S. Berument, M. Rutter, C. Lord, A. Pickles, A. Bailey
- Medicine, PsychologyBritish Journal of Psychiatry
- 1 November 1999
The ASQ has good discriminative validity with respect to the separation of PDD from non-PDD diagnoses at all IQ levels, with a cut-off of 15 proving most effective.

Functional impact of global rare copy number variation in autism spectrum disorders
The genome-wide characteristics of rare (<1% frequency) copy number variation in ASD are analysed using dense genotyping arrays to reveal many new genetic and functional targets in ASD that may lead to final connected pathways.
The Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange: Towards Large-Scale Evaluation of the Intrinsic Brain Architecture in Autism
W Whole-brain analyses reconciled seemingly disparate themes of both hypo- and hyperconnectivity in the ASD literature; both were detected, although hypoconnectivity dominated, particularly for corticocortical and interhemispheric functional connectivity.
Standardizing ADOS Scores for a Measure of Severity in Autism Spectrum Disorders
- K. Gotham, A. Pickles, C. Lord
- Medicine, PsychologyJournal of autism and developmental disorders
- 1 May 2009
Calibrated severity scores had more uniform distributions across developmental groups and were less influenced by participant demographics than raw totals and should be useful in comparing assessments across modules and time.
Behavioural phenotyping assays for mouse models of autism
Robust phenotypes in mouse models hold great promise as translational tools for discovering effective treatments for components of autism spectrum disorders.
The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule: Revised Algorithms for Improved Diagnostic Validity
- K. Gotham, S. Risi, A. Pickles, C. Lord
- PsychologyJournal of autism and developmental disorders
- 1 April 2007
Reflecting recent research, the revised algorithm now consists of two new domains, Social Affect and Restricted, Repetitive Behaviors, combined to one score to which thresholds are applied, resulting in generally improved predictive value.
