The common pathogenic prodiplostomulum metacercaria in the flesh, mostly near the skin, of pond-produced channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus has been demonstrated to be Bolbophorus damnificus, and a species inquirenda, similar but most likely distinct from B. confusus (Kraus, 1914), which occurs in Europe and has eggs 90–102 μm long.

Patagifer lamothei n. sp. (Digenea: Echinostomatidae: Nephrostominae) from the white ibis Eudocimus albus (Threskiornithidae) from Texas, USA

During a study of the endohelminths of wading birds from the Texas Gulf coast, 12 specimens of an undescribed species of Patagifer Dietz, 1909 were collected from 2 of 8 white ibis, Eudocimus albus (Linnaeus) (Threskiornithidae), from the Galveston and Brazos County areas of Texas, USA.

Buticulotrema stenauchenus n. gen., n. sp. (Digenea: Opecoelidae) from Malacocephalus occidentalis and Nezumia aequalis (Macrouridae) from the Gulf of Mexico.

The new genus Buticulotrema stenauchenus is described from the macrourid fishes Malacocephalus occidentalis Goode and Bean and Nezumia aequalis Günther, collected in June 1971 from the DeSoto Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico at a depth of 495 m.
