Results demonstrate that insertion of high-flux pathways directing synthesis and intracellular storage of high amounts of a cyanogenic glucoside or a glucosinolate is achievable in transgenic A. thaliana plants with marginal inadvertent effects on the transcriptome and metabolome. Expand
UDP-Glycosyltransferases from the UGT73C Subfamily in Barbarea vulgaris Catalyze Sapogenin 3-O-Glucosylation in Saponin-Mediated Insect Resistance1[W][OA]
The identification of four family 1 glycosyltransferases (UGTs) that catalyze 3-O-glucosylation of the sapogenins oleanolic acid and hederagenin indicates that UGTs from both the resistant and susceptible types of B. vulgaris have neofunctionalized to specifically glucosylate sapgenins at the C3 position and demonstrates that C3 monoglucosyation activates resistance. Search for variants of the gene-promoter and the potential phosphotyrosine encoding sequence of the insulin receptor substrate-2 gene: evaluation of their relation with alterations in insulin…
Part of the putative promoter sequence in addition to 14 potential phosphotyrosine residues of human IRS-2 was screened for genetic variability which might cause changes in protein expression or function and showed no nucleotide substitutions in the promoter sequence. Expand

A class of tests of the hypothesis that the copula is in a given parametric family, with unspecified association parameter, based on bivariate right censored data is proposed, used to check the appropriateness of a gamma or a positive stable frailty model in a set of survival data on Danish twins. The K121Q variant of the human PC-1 gene is not associated with insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes among Danish Caucasians.
The K121Q polymorphism of the human PC-1 gene is not associated with type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance among Danish Caucasians and the impact of the variant in 2 other Danish population samples was investigated. Expand
Whole grain-rich diet reduces body weight and systemic low-grade inflammation without inducing major changes of the gut microbiome: a randomised cross-over trial
Compared with refined grain diet, whole grain diet did not alter insulin sensitivity and gut microbiome but reduced body weight and systemic low-grade inflammation. Expand
Infection dynamics of digital dermatitis in first-lactation Holstein cows in an infected herd.
Evaluating different levels of DD susceptibility in cows, identifying the bacterial colonization of the interdigital skin, and exploring the relationship between clinical DD diagnosis and laboratory findings, found that advancing age at calving was associated with greater odds of being intermittently or consistently infected. Effect of Liraglutide Treatment on Prediabetes and Overweight or Obesity in Clozapine- or Olanzapine-Treated Patients With Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorder: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Liraglutide significantly improved glucose tolerance, body weight, and cardiometabolic disturbances in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders treated with clozapine or olanzapine. Expand
Oligofructose overload induces lameness in cattle.

- Journal of dairy science
- 1 February 2009
Oligofructose overload in dairy heifers induced ruminal and systemic acidosis, diarrhea, dehydration, and, subsequently, lameness, claw pain, and joint effusion, collectively interpreted as signs of acute laminitis. Expand
A low-gluten diet induces changes in the intestinal microbiome of healthy Danish adults
Evidence that a low-gluten diet leads to gut microbiome changes, possibly due to variations in dietary fibres is shown, showing evidence that middle-aged, healthy Danish adults without known disorders are affected. Expand
