The DefH9-iaaM gene is a genetic tool that might be used to improve tomato productivity by using the parthenocarpic trait which consists of fruit set and growth in the absence of fertilization.
Growth patterns and morphology of fine roots of size-controlling and invigorating peach rootstocks.
The seasonal pattern of fine root production did not appear to be associated with the previously reported effects of these dwarfing rootstocks on shoot growth and stem water potential early in the growing season.

The data support the conclusion that at low temperatures especially, there is insufficient carbon to meet the full demands of both fruit and shoot growth, and the overall carbon balance is reduced compared with vegetative vines at similar temperatures.
