Gas-forming pyogenic liver abscesses were common among the diabetics and Klebsiella pneumoniae was the major pathogen in both groups. Expand
Gastrointestinal tract involvement in hepatocellular carcinoma: clinical, radiological and endoscopic studies.
Gastrointestinal tract involvement with hepatocellular carcinoma was observed in 8 out of 396 patients (2%) during the course of the disease and this complication is more likely to develop in patients with large, subcapsular, massive type hepatocells treated by transcatheter arterial embolization and/or intra-arterial chemotherapy. Age is one of the risk factors in developing gallstone disease in Taiwan.
Age, high body mass index, diabetes mellitus and glucose intolerance are the risk factors for developing GSD in Taiwan. Expand
Risk factors for gallbladder polyps in the Chinese population.
Among Chinese of higher socioeconomic status, men and individuals with glucose intolerance tend to have a high risk for developing GB polyps, and other demographic characteristics and biochemical parameters, such as age, body mass index, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, blood pressure, lipid profile, hepatitis B virus carrier, liver function, and parity, did not exhibit any correlation. - Journal of computer assisted tomography
- 1 September 2000
The diffusion-weighted (DW) magnetic resonance (MR) imaging findings of a patient with subacute stage of heroin-induced vacuolating myelinopathy are reported. The diffuse decrease of apparent… Expand
Posterior epidural migration of a sequestrated lumbar disk fragment: MR imaging findings.
- C. Chen, Y. Chuang, M. Yao, W. Chiu, C. Chen, W. Chan
- AJNR. American journal of neuroradiology
- 1 August 2006
MR imaging showed a sequestrated disk fragment, which had a signal intensity similar to that of a herniated disk with a rim enhancement in the posterior epidural space and a ruptured outermost annulus of the intervertebral disk at L2-3. Expand
Application of Klebsiella oxytoca immobilized cells on the treatment of cyanide wastewater.
Results show that KCN can be utilized as the sole nitrogen source by K. oxytoca and immobilized cell systems could tolerate a higher level of KCN concentration and wider ranges of pH, and indicate that immobilized system can support a higher biomass concentration. Expand
Normal and variant anatomy of hepatic arteries: angiographic experience.

- Zhonghua yi xue za zhi = Chinese medical journal…
This study provides basic data for the anatomic variations of hepatic arteries for the Chinese population in Taiwan based on Suzuki's classification. Expand
Effect of aging on common bile duct diameter: A real‐time ultrasonographic study
The normal inner diameter of common bile duct can be up to 10 mm, and there is a mild change of duct size with age, based on the visualization of the entire extrahepatic duct echographically. Expand
