A CONTROLLED RELEASE INTRARUMINAL DEVICE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF FECAL DRY-MATTER MARKERS TO THE GRAZING RUMINANT
A general purpose controlled release intra-ruminal device (CRD) containing chromium sesquioxide (Cr2O3) was used to measure mean daily fecal dry matter excretion (FE), and a single, uniform release rate was observed in grazing and penned sheep.

The effects of including monensin in the diet on the dynamics of protozoa in the rumen of sheep were investigated using injections of protZoa labelled with 14C-choline, and there was a tendency for the apparent production rate to be higher with the resulting increase in washout of protzoa.
Plant Counts and Seed Production on California Annual-Type Ranges
Introduction of modern range management methods is essential to stop the decline of the range in Argentina and better animal husbandry practices such as shorter breeding season, better selection based on the culling of non-producing breeding stock, and the use of good bulls will lessen the grazing pressure on the range without appreciably lowering the reproduction of the herds.
An in vitro assay for compounds toxic to rumen protozoa
A good correlation was obtained between the potency of these compounds in vitro and in vivo and the use of the technique as an assay for testing antiprotozoal agents was evaluated.
Effect of Sheep and Rabbit Digestion on the Viability of Some Range Plant Seeds

Selective Herbicides for Improving California Forest Ranges.
T HIS paper reports some preliminary tests with selective herbicides for control of weeds and brush on forest ranges in northeastern California. The results are encouraging. Herbicides were sprayed…
