A novel scheme for the generation of a dispersion tolerant DSB-SC optical signal for remote generation of microwave signals is presented. Using the cross-phase modulation effect of a SOA inside a fiber loop upconversion of signals up to 15 GHz was achieved
An efficient scheme for the optical generation of a dispersion tolerant double-sideband with suppressed carrier (DSB-SC) signal is presented. A fiber loop mirror, offering an optical bandwidth of more than 130 nm is used to filter out the required sidebands.
Optical heterodyne microwave generation using the amplified spontaneous emission of an optical amplifier is investigated. An unbalanced fiber loop is used to generate the required optical spectrum.

An unbalanced fiber loop mirror, offering an optical bandwidth of more than 130 mm is used to select the required sidebands. Therefore it is very suited for application in radio over fiber system using WDM.
