System interfaces of the 1980s are being replaced by system integration of the 1990s. Standards such as Health Level 7 (HL7) are facilitating this integration process. The authors dispel several persistent misconceptions about the HL7 standard and illustrate two working approaches to HL7-based networking.
In this paper we present a context-sensitive, secure file system. Our system was designed to offer block level security as well as present access to a file under multiple varying contexts in diverse fashions. Some of our related works illustrate different ways to use the different context / different view approach, but these prior works raise similar… (More)
Almost ten years ago, Gilles Kahn used the fixed point theory of Dana Scott to define a formal and elegant model of computation for determinate dataflow graphs, networks of determinate processes communicating asynchronously through unbounded channels. Kahn viewed each process as a function mapping each tuple of streams, or sequences of values, received… (More)
