Evidence is provided that vegetarian diets effectively lower blood concentrations of total cholesterol, low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol, high‐ density lipop Protein cholesterol, and non–high‐density cholesterol cholesterol, which could be a useful nonpharmaceutical means of managing dyslipidemia, especially hypercholesterolemia.
