Substance P: a pioneer amongst neuropeptides
Substance P is a pioneer amongst neuropeptides in neuroscience and should be considered a “drug of choice” for clinical use, according to the authors.

It is concluded that blood flow to the leg in middle-aged men rises in a curvilinear manner in response to exercises at work loads increased in steps to near maximal levels of work intensity.
Substance p: localization in the central nervous system and in some primary sensory neurons
Results give morphological support for a transmitter (or modulator) role of substance P in the nervous system of the rat and the cat.
Flare and itch induced by substance P in human skin.

The findings indicate that the responses induced by substance P were mainly mediated by histamine released from the dermal mast cells, and that substance P is a potent histamine liberator in human skin.
Experimental immunohistochemical studies on the localization and distribution of substance P in cat primary sensory neurons
Availability of glycogen and plasma FFA for substrate utilization in leg muscle of man during exercise
The magnitude of the local glycogen stores of muscle influences the uptake and use of blood-borne substrates as well as determining endurance capacity during moderate to high intensity exercise.
Availability of substrates and capacity for prolonged heavy exercise in man.
THE EFFECT OF LOCAL ANAESTHETICS ON THE CENTRAL CIRCULATION AND RESPIRATION IN MAN AND DOG1),2)

The effect on the central circulation and respiration of intravenously infused equipotent doses of mepivacaine and bupivacaine was studied in 11 healthy men and in four conscious dogs. The…
Immunohistochemical evidence of substance P-like immunoreactivity in some 5-hydroxytryptamine-containing neurons in the rat central nervous system
