25 μM resveratrol can modulate the effects of As2O3 on enzymes involved in estrogen metabolism, and in immortalized but nontransformed estrogen receptor α-negative human breast cells (MCF10A), it is observed that it ameliorated As2 O3-induced cytotoxicity.

Higher DNA adduct ratios in women with breast cancer are found, which suggests that estrogen metabolism is out of balance, and the formation of estrogen-DNA adducts may exert a critical role in breast cancer initiation in AA women.
