A Draft Sequence of the Rice Genome (Oryza sativa L. ssp. japonica)
The genome of the japonica subspecies of rice, an important cereal and model monocot, was sequenced and assembled by whole-genome shotgun sequencing and suggests that the genome contains 32,000 to 50,000 genes.
Galactic Cosmic Radiation Leads to Cognitive Impairment and Increased Aβ Plaque Accumulation in a Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease
The results show for the first time that HZE particle radiation can increase Aβ plaque pathology in an APP/PS1 mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease.
Analysis of Transcriptome Differences between Resistant and Susceptible Strains of the Citrus Red Mite Panonychus citri (Acari: Tetranychidae)
This study identified differential unigenes related to general pesticide resistance and organism growth and reproduction in P. citri, the first comparative transcriptome study to discover candidate genes involved in phytophagous mite resistance.
Bio-modification of soybean meal with Bacillus subtilis or Aspergillus oryzae
The protein content and anti-oxidation activity were increased and trypsin inhibitors and antigenic proteins were reduced in FSBM culture, indicating that it could be used as a new protein source in animal diets.
An accurate three‐dimensional potential energy surface for H3
An accurate three‐dimensional potential energy surface for H3 has been obtained by the configuration interaction (CI) method. The calculated energies, for 156 nuclear configurations, with the energy…

Carbon burial in lake sediments is an important component of the global carbon cycle. However, little is known about the magnitude of carbon sequestered in lake sediments over the arid/semiarid…
Blocking antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 RBD isolated from a phage display antibody library using a competitive biopanning strategy
This work proved to competitively block the binding of RBD to ACE2 protein, and potently inhibit SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus infection of ACE2-overexpressing Hela cells with IC50 values of 12nM.
Molecular pharmacology of inflammation: Medicinal plants as anti‐inflammatory agents
The molecular pharmacology of inflammation, chemical components and biological activities of medicinal plants such as, curcumin from Curcuma longa, and epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate from Camellia sinensis as well as their mechanism of action during inflammation at molecular level are reviewed.
Legacy and emerging contaminants in coastal surface sediments around Hainan Island in South China.
Principal component analysis revealed the associations between most of the pollutants (HFRs, OCPs, and PAHs) and perylene, indicating that terrestrial runoff plays a significant role in their presence in the coastal sediments.
A Microarray-Based Analysis Reveals that a Short Photoperiod Promotes Hair Growth in the Arbas Cashmere Goat
This study evaluated the Arbas Cashmere goat and identified genes that showed altered expression under the short photoperiod compared to natural conditions, and these genes were found to be involved in the biological processes ofhair follicle growth, structural composition of the hair follicle, and the morphogenesis of the surrounding skin appendages.
