Multivariate tests comparing binomial probabilities, with application to safety studies for drugs
- A. Agresti, B. Klingenberg
- Mathematics
- 1 August 2005
Summary. In magazine advertisements for new drugs, it is common to see summary tables that compare the relative frequency of several side‐effects for the drug and for a placebo, based on results…
Multivariate Extensions of McNemar's Test
- B. Klingenberg, A. Agresti
- MathematicsBiometrics
- 1 September 2006
A multivariate extension of McNemar's test is proposed and it is shown that it is a generalized score test under a generalized estimating equations (GEE) approach and does not depend on the working correlation assumption among the components of the multivariate response.
Proof of concept and dose estimation with binary responses under model uncertainty
- B. Klingenberg
- MathematicsStatistics in Medicine
- 30 January 2009
A unified framework for testing Proof of Concept (PoC) and estimating a target dose for the benefit of a more comprehensive, robust and powerful analysis in phase II or similar clinical trials is suggested.

Testing Marginal Homogeneity Against Stochastic Order in Multivariate Ordinal Data
- B. Klingenberg, A. Solari, L. Salmaso, F. Pesarin
- MathematicsBiometrics
- 1 June 2009
A theorem is provided that establishes a connection between marginal homogeneity and the stronger exchangeability assumption under the permutation approach and is illustrated using a collection of 25 correlated ordinal endpoints, grouped into six domains, to evaluate toxicity of a chemical compound.
Development and Validation of a Questionnaire to Measure Serious and Common Quality of Life Issues for Patients Experiencing Small Bowel Obstructions

- 1 March 2014
A validated questionnaire to assess the impact of small bowel obstructions (SBO) on patients’ quality of life was developed and validated, establishing a mechanism to monitor and quantify changes inquality of life over time.
Simultaneous confidence bounds for relative risks in multiple comparisons to control
- B. Klingenberg
- MathematicsStatistics in Medicine
- 30 December 2010
In typical settings of vaccine studies, this method proves to be the most powerful of the ones considered, but computationally simpler alternatives are also worth exploring when the number of comparisons is large.
