Routine use of MANOVA for the analysis of longitudinal data, particularly when there is a substantial proportion of drop-outs, is ill advised and psychiatric researchers dealing with such data should be aware of the advantages of the newer methods.
Principles of Multivariate Analysis
Typically, MVA is used to address the situations where multiple measurements are made on each experimental unit and the relations among these measurements and their structures are important.
Large sample standard errors of kappa and weighted kappa.
The statistics kappa (Cohen, 1960) and weighted kappa (Cohen, 1968) were introduced to provide coefficients of agreement between two raters for nominal scales. Kappa is appropriate when all…
Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Schizophrenia: Effect Sizes, Clinical Models, and Methodological Rigor
CBTp had beneficial effect on positive symptoms, however, psychological treatment trials that make no attempt to mask the group allocation are likely to have inflated effect sizes.
Exploratory Factor Analysis
In many areas of psychology, and other disciplines in the behavioural sciences, often it is not possible to measure directly the concepts of primary interest. Two obvious examples are intelligence…

Clinical efficacy of computerised cognitive-behavioural therapy for anxiety and depression in primary care: Randomised controlled trial
Computer-delivered CBT is a widely applicable treatment for anxiety and/or depression in general practice and interacted with severity such that computerised therapy did better than usual treatment for more disturbed patients.
