Species producing pseudohyphae and true hyphae and forming asci with endospores were included in the studied group of yeast-like microorganisms. These species belong taxonomically to various genera,i.e. Saccharomycopsis, Endomycopsis, Guilliermondiella, Arthroascus, Hormoascus etc. The groupCandida lipolytica was treated separately (Blagodarskaja and(More)
Thirty-five species of aquatic hyphomycetes were screened for the ability to degrade polysaccharides and some other obvious components of plant tissues. Under laboratory conditions, nearly all strains tested were able to degrade lignin, pectin, cellulose and protein, as well as the secondary products of cellulose, xylan and amylose decomposition.
The antimicrobial effect of 14 sugar osazones and anhydro sugars was studied with model strains ofMicrococcus luteus, Bacillus licheniformis, Escherichia coli and strainsStaphylococcus aureus andPseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from clinical material. The relationship between the structure of these compounds, their solubility in water and 1-octanol and(More)
