Floating-point (FP) multiplication finds application in image and signal processing. This paper presents a hardware implementation of optimized IEEE 754 single precision floating-point multiplier. The design is simulated using Modelsim and synthesized using Virtix E Xilinx ISE. An improvement of 57.77% in area and 44.52% in delay is shown.

An explicit formula is given for the weighting coefficients of maximally flat nonrecursive digital filters based on Miller's  design. A scheme is also presented for evaluating these coefficients with the minimum possible computation.

An explicit formula for the coefficients of the transfer function of a maximally flat nonrecursive digital filter, expressed in powers of cos w, is derived by exploiting the properties of the Kaiser-Hamming  amplitude change function polynomial. Transfer functions expressed in this form are convenient for implementing variable cutoff filters .
