The purpose of this study was to investigate whether a three-direction accelerometer is useful for measuring daily physical activity. Physical activity, being an important part of human behavior, may be related to various aspects of health and disease. In this study, the relationship between the intensity of each action and the three-direction accelerometer… (More)
The changes in muscle fiber conduction velocity (MFCV) and median frequency (MDF) during and after muscle fatigue were investigated in 9 younger (mean age: 29.3) and 7 elderly (mean age: 72.0) healthy subjects to determine if age has any effect on them. The surface EMG of the abductor digiti minimi muscle was examined at 50% of maximal voluntary contraction… (More)
We describe a rare case of SFT existing along the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve and extending down into the infratemporal fossa through the foramen ovale. The tumor showed heterogeneous hypointensity on T2-weighted images and marked enhancement on CT and MR images.
We studied bilateral facial nerve conduction velocity distribution (FNCVD) of 8 Bell's palsy patients in their paretic and recovered state and unilateral FNCVD of 13 normal control using collision method. Dual supramaximal stimuli were adapted to marginalis mandibulae branch of facial nerve and compound muscle action potential (CMAP) was recorded from the… (More)
The purpose of this study is to find the correlation between middle latency auditory evoked potentials (MLAEP) and sound activated single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) studies. This study was performed on six normal right-handed volunteers with a mean age of 35.2 +/- 7.6 years, using the split-dose technique. First, a SPECT study was performed… (More)
AIM To estimate the efficacy of 2 h post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) serum amylase levels and other factors for predicting post-ERCP pancreatitis. METHODS This was a retrospective, single-center cohort study of consecutive patients who underwent ERCP from January 2010 to December 2013. Serum amylase levels were measured 2 h… (More)
BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS Sessile serrated adenoma/polyps (SSA/Ps) have a different potential than traditional adenomatous polyps for developing into malignant colorectal cancer. However, little is known about the coexistent cancer rate. Here, we evaluate the frequency of carcinoma in serrated polyps removed by endoscopic resection (ER). PATIENTS AND… (More)
